本作品探討當代女性在「美貌追求」與「男性凝視」下的內在衝突，透過大量視覺意象與聽覺刺激表現女性在這種結構中展現自我或迷失自我的衝突關係。對於美的定義雖隨文化與時代變遷，但在當代，消費主義與男性凝視操控著這一標準。女性在追求美貌的過程中，可能獲得自信，或淪為炫耀品，甚至(被)用年齡界定自己的價值，失去主體性。這些無形的審判和外界評價如鏡面般反覆檢視著女性的年齡與美貌，這股壓迫在日常情境中無限循環，亦與自我認同糾纏。透過這件作品希望能引導觀眾思考：美貌的追求究竟是父權壓迫，還是女性能動性的展現？抑或有超越二元對立的詮釋空間？

This work explores the internal conflict faced by contemporary women under the pursuit of "beauty" and the "male gaze." Through an abundance of visual imagery and auditory stimulation, it portrays the tension women experience in such structures, either expressing themselves or losing their identities. While the definition of beauty shifts with culture and time, in contemporary society, consumerism and the male gaze manipulate these standards. In the pursuit of beauty, women may gain confidence, become mere objects of display, or even find their worth defined (by others) through age, losing their sense of agency. These intangible judgments and external evaluations act as mirrors, repeatedly reflecting upon women’s age and beauty. This oppression perpetuates itself in daily contexts, entwining with self-identity. Through this piece, the creators aim to prompt the audience to reflect: Is the pursuit of beauty a form of patriarchal oppression or a manifestation of female agency? Or is there room for interpretation that transcends this binary opposition?
